We are proud to be a place that nurtures creativity, thinking and social skills, enabling children to develop a love of learning. The visual arts are embedded into our program, which also features yoga classes, excursions, gardening, early computer literacy, music and dance (with our educators and community musicians), sensory experiences and fine motor activities that work towards writing and drawing.

Child Centred, Play based Curriculum
Early childhood is a unique time when children should value and enjoy play in an unhurried environment without undue pressure or judgement. Children learn and develop at their own rate when given time to explore, investigate, create and imagine through play. Children are capable and resourceful learners who actively contribute to their own learning by exploring and sharing their experiences, ideas, interests and cultures.
We facilitate a child-centred, play based program that focusses on the strengths, interests and needs of the child that is responsive to different learning styles, cultures and backgrounds. We embrace the Early Years Learning Framework to support children in their learning and development and reflect on each individual child’s development and learning.
When engaged in authentic and meaningful play in a safe and stimulating environment, children develop dignity and positive self-esteem and learn co-operation, assertiveness, empathy and how to handle frustration. Learning through play promotes a sense of wonder, creativity, competence, discovery and challenge.

Visual Arts engages children's senses in open-ended play and develops Cognitive, Social, Emotional and Sensori-Motor skills. Art is a cooperative learning experience that provides pleasure, challenge, and a sense of mastery. Instruction in the arts is one of the best ways in which to involve the different modes of learning; through art, children learn complex thinking skills and master developmental tasks (Belden & Fessard, 2001).

Sustainability is “environment education”. Learning about the environment and how natural systems function. It’s everything that we need for our survival and wellbeing relating directly to our natural environment. Environmental education gives children an awareness of their impact on the environment and ways to minimise it, assisting young children and families to understand sustainability issues, concepts and practices.
